A calmer kind of overnight stay.
Comfortable, climate-controlled care
with owners who live on-site.
Where your dog sleeps
Your dog stays in a climate-controlled building on our property. It's purpose-built for boarding — heated, cooled, and quiet.
We keep the total number of dogs on the property at eight, and that number includes daycare. On a given night you might have eight dogs here, or fourteen. Never more than eight.
We live on the property. Overnight, there's a family a few steps away.
A day in the middle of a stay
Morning. Out early for a bathroom break, then breakfast — your dog's own food, pre-portioned the way you packed it.
Daytime. Our goal is to give your dog as much outdoor and play time as they want. We generally alternate about one hour outside in the yards with one hour inside to rest, repeating that rhythm throughout the day. We adjust for age, energy, weather, and how each dog is feeling; dogs ready for more play get it, while dogs ready to rest can settle. Dinner and a wind-down follow the final afternoon session.
Overnight. Everyone settles in their own space in the building. We're right here.
Medication goes in whenever it's scheduled. If your dog takes something twice a day, that happens.
What it costs
$60 a day for one dog. $50 a day per dog when you board more than one.
Partial days. Drop off in the afternoon and that day is half price. Pick up in the morning and that day is half price. You pay for the time your dog is actually here.
Sundays are afternoon only, so a Sunday afternoon drop-off is half price. There's no Sunday morning pick-up.
Holidays. Major holidays are $10 a day extra. That includes the day before and the day after. The full list is in our agreement — and with eight spaces, holidays fill up early.
Deposit. 50% to hold the spot.
Cancellation. 48 hours notice and your deposit carries to another stay.
Getting them here and home
| Drop-off / Pick-up | |
|---|---|
| Monday–Saturday | 7:00–9:00 AM · 4:00–6:00 PM |
| Sunday | 4:00–6:00 PM only |
Business hours only, holidays excluded. Please have your dog on a leash when you arrive.
These windows keep the middle of the day settled for the dogs who are mid-stay.
We're closed for drop-offs and pick-ups on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Dogs already staying with us are looked after as normal — we're just not taking arrivals or departures those three days, so our family gets the holiday too.
What to pack
- Food, pre-portioned and labeled for the whole stay. If we run short we'll feed ours and add a small charge.
- Medication, with written instructions and whatever you use to give it — pill pockets, peanut butter, whatever works.
- Something from home if it helps them settle. A blanket, a bed, a toy. Label it.
That's it. We have everything else.
Before your dog's first stay
Every dog who boards here has done a full day of daycare with us first, ending with a temperament evaluation. That's how we know your dog will do well here, and how you know it too.
Vaccinations required: rabies, distemper, bordetella, leptospirosis, parvovirus — all given at least 72 hours before arrival. Bordetella is good for six months nasal or oral, twelve months injectable. We recommend canine influenza but don't require it.
Also required: spayed or neutered, at least 12 months old, and arriving clean and free of fleas and ticks. If a bath or treatment is needed we can handle it at your expense.
Dogs showing signs of illness or aggression may be turned away — it's what keeps the other fifteen safe.
Every dog settles in differently
Dogs arrive with their own habits and their own pace. Some walk in and join the group within the hour. Others need a day to read the room, and that's normal. Older dogs in particular sometimes take longer to relax — a dog who has kept the same routine for ten years is being asked to change it all at once.
During that adjustment, a dog may wait longer than usual to relieve themselves, eat less than they do at home, or have an accident indoors even if that hasn't happened in years. None of this means anything is wrong, and none of it is treated as a problem. We give a dog the time they need and adjust what we're doing to suit them.
If your dog has a habit, a fear, or a routine that helps them settle, tell us at the meet and greet. That's the kind of detail that makes the difference between a dog tolerating their stay and a dog enjoying it.
From families who know us
Hands down…AMAZING!!! The best space for my dogs and I m thrilled I found Z!!! My dogs have been for daycare and boarding both of which have been great…communication, care, my pups get excited when we pull in and are exhausted when I pick them up which means they played hard! I can’t recommend them enough!!!
So happy we found Lake Wylie Dog Boarding. Means so much to be able to travel without guilt. Our Boxer Mix is 12 years old and deaf. Even with his anxiety issues, Earl has made himself at home there. Thanks to Zee and her family.
Start with a day
Every new dog does a full day of daycare first, at the regular $35 rate, with a temperament evaluation at the end. You'll know how your dog does here before you book a week away.
