Frequently Asked Questions
Rates and booking
What does boarding cost? $60 a day for one dog, and that covers everything — yard time, meals, medication if your dog needs it.
What does daycare cost? $35 a day for one dog. Daycare runs Monday through Saturday.
Is there a discount for more than one dog? There is. Boarding drops to $50 a day per dog and daycare to $30 a day per dog when you have more than one with us.
What if I drop off in the afternoon or pick up in the morning? That day is half price. So a Wednesday afternoon drop-off through a Saturday morning pick-up works out to $30, $60, $60, $30 — $180 for the stay.
Sundays are afternoon only. A Sunday afternoon drop-off is half price, and there's no Sunday morning pick-up.
This applies to boarding. Daycare is a morning drop-off and an afternoon pick-up on the same day, Monday through Saturday.
Do you charge more on holidays? Yes, there's a $10 per day holiday rate, and it covers the day before and after as well. The full list is in our agreement. Holidays book up fast with eight spaces, so it's worth reaching out early.
Do you take a deposit? We ask for 50% to hold the spot. With only eight spaces, holding a place for one dog means turning another away, so the deposit keeps that fair for everyone.
What's the cancellation policy? Let us know 48 hours ahead and your deposit carries over to another stay, no problem. After that we do keep it — same reason as above.
Requirements
What vaccinations do you require? Rabies, distemper, bordetella, leptospirosis, and parvovirus, all given at least 72 hours before your dog arrives. Bordetella lasts six months if it's nasal or oral, twelve if it's the shot. We also recommend canine influenza, though we don't require it. Your vet can send records straight to us if that's easier.
Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered? Yes, for every dog. With a small group sharing two yards, it keeps things calm.
How old does my dog have to be? Twelve months and up.
Are there size or breed restrictions? None at all. Big, small, and everything in between.
Do you board cats? Just dogs here, sorry.
What if my dog has never been boarded before? That's what the full day of daycare is for. Your dog gets to know the place, the yards, and us before they ever spend a night — so their first overnight isn't their first time here.
The day itself
When can I drop off and pick up?
| Drop-off / Pick-up | |
|---|---|
| Monday–Saturday | 7:00–9:00 AM · 4:00–6:00 PM |
| Sunday | 4:00–6:00 PM only |
Business hours only, holidays excluded.
Why those windows? It keeps the middle of the day settled. Dogs notice comings and goings, and grouping arrivals and departures at the ends of the day makes for a calmer stay for everyone.
Will my dog play with dogs much bigger than them? Only if it suits them. Our two yards connect, so most days everyone's together — but the smaller yard is always there for little dogs, older dogs, or anyone who'd rather have a quieter spot.
How many dogs are here at once? Eight at most, and that's counting boarding and daycare together.
Who's here overnight? We are — we live on the property. There's always someone a few steps away.
Do you offer daycare on Sundays? We don't. Daycare runs Monday through Saturday, since Sunday drop-off and pick-up is afternoon only. Boarding dogs are with us Sundays as normal.
Are you ever closed? We don't take drop-offs or pick-ups on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day. Dogs boarding with us over those days are cared for exactly as normal — we're just not scheduling arrivals or departures, so our family gets the holiday too.
Practical
What should I bring? Your dog's food, pre-portioned and labeled for the whole stay, plus any medication with instructions. If a blanket or a favorite toy helps them settle, bring it along — just put a name on it.
What if I don't bring enough food? No trouble, we'll feed ours and add a small charge. Switching food suddenly can upset a dog's stomach, so it's worth packing a little extra.
Can you give medication? Absolutely, and at no extra cost. Send written instructions and whatever you normally use to get it down — pill pockets, peanut butter, whatever works.
What if my dog doesn't settle in right away? Completely normal, especially for older dogs. They might eat less, hold it longer than usual, or have an accident indoors even if that hasn't happened in years. We give them the time they need. If there's a routine or a habit that helps your dog settle, tell us at the meet and greet.
Can you post photos of my dog? Photo permission is a separate choice on the Client Intake Form. We will not use your dog's photos on the website unless you say yes.
